Course Overview

Learn the ins and outs of wine theory and tasting.

This certificate is suited to those who wish to increase their knowledge for professional development purposes or those who would like to enhance their personal knowledge.

 

Do you know your Malbec from your Merlot? The old-world wines from the new? And where is it they grow the best chardonnay, again? Whether you're working in hospitality or just want to order confidently from a wine menu, this course will give you the knowledge you need to embark upon your study of wines.

This course is intended for people who want to learn about a wide range of wines and wine growing regions of the world. You’ll discover all about key wine regions, grape varieties and main types and styles of wine.

It’s ideal for everyone from the newbie who wants to gain a better understanding of wine to the seasoned wine lover who wants to brush up their knowledge. 

You will explore the ‘systematic approach’ to wine tasting and discover the factors that impact style and quality.  By the end of the course you will be more confident when tasting wine, have an added insight when selecting wines and know the key characteristics of the major wine regions.
