Course Overview
Develop your ability to recognise and understand work-related stress and burnout while identifying strategies and methods for adaptive coping.
This programme supports learners from all professional backgrounds to critically engage with self-awareness theories and to identify personal strengths and vulnerabilities which may impact on both their personal and professional lives. In doing so, learners develop the skills to apply appropriate self-care strategies and build their resilience.

Course Details
This course consists of a single module, worth 10ECTS credits, taught over two semesters.
Course Module
The aim of this module is to instil in learners the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to understand the concept and practice of self-care in work-related contexts. In particular, the module introduces learners to the importance of self-awareness and the processes that support ‘self-knowing’ within personal as well as work-related environments. Learners who demonstrate in-work competencies in self care can play an effective leadership role in their teams.

How to Apply
Entry Requirements
Applicants are required to hold a minimum of an honours (NFQ level 8) primary degree with a 2.2 award, or equivalent. To facilitate applicants from all professional backgrounds, entry to the programme is for non-cognate NFQ level 8 qualification holders.

2% Learner Protection Charge
All QQI accredited programmes of education and training of 3 months or longer duration are covered by arrangements under section 65 (4) of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012 whereby, in the event of the provider ceasing to provide the programme for any reason, enrolled learners may transfer to a similar programme at another provider, or, in the event that this is not practicable, the fees most recently paid will be refunded.
