The College
As the CAO offers are coming thick and fast for some students, Griffith College Cork offers an alternative route in various disciplines. While offering CAO courses we also offer direct-entry courses with a pathway to QQI Level 8 and 9 degrees.
Our small class sizes mean that you won’t get lost in the crowd and will get valuable face-to-face time with our highly qualified and accomplished lecturers. They are all working in their respective fields in addition to lecturing, meaning you are getting valuable and up-to-date information from industry insiders.
We have full-time, part-time and short courses, ranging from Accounting to Leadership Skills. A dedicated career liaison expert is on campus to help students put their best foot forward in the jobs market and secure well-known companies for work placement during their degree.

The buildings were first built in 1870 and were originally St. Patrick’s Hospital, run by the Sisters of Charity. In 1984 the hospital opened Marymount Hospice as part of the original hospital. Griffith College Cork officially bought the five-acre campus in 2013 and has been developing a thriving learning community since then.
Recent renovations to the former convent have made the historical campus a more up-to-date and professional place of learning.
Location
The leafy campus is situated on Wellington Road just beside St. Luke’s. While many people would be familiar with the ‘Live at St. Luke’s’ gigs that the old church is famous for, the area itself is full of hidden gems.
Less than a two-minute walk from the College entrance, the bustling community of St. Luke’s has everything a new or returning college student needs.
Sheehan’s Butchers is an affordable and inviting butchers and deli that stocks lovely pre-made dinners and offers great deals on meats and meals.
O’Keeffe’s shop just across the road is a quaint place with just about everything else you need. They also have a lovely deli if you forgot to bring your lunch and their coffee is some of the nicest around.
There is also a café, pharmacy, pub and post office in the vicinity that should get you nicely through the rest of the semester.
After exploring all of the lovely eateries and social spots around Cork City as you get acclimatised to the real capital, you may want to join an affordable gym to keep active. There are plenty of places to choose from around the city and county, depending on where you are living.
Dennehy’s gyms, located in Blackpool, Ballincollig, Douglas and Penrose Dock, are very popular. You can submit a query on their website.
In Cork City, One Life Fitness has two locations in Cork City and are very cheap at €40 per month.

We are only a fifteen-minute walk from Cork city centre where our students can grab lunch, go shopping, grab some drinks or catch a show.
Oliver Plunkett Street is choc-full of bars and restaurants so you are sure to find something to quench your thirst or appetite.
MacCurtain Street, the hub of Cork’s Victorian Quarter, is just at the bottom of Summerhill and is home to the Everyman Palace Theatre, one of Cork’s most famous landmarks.
Many of our international students go on walking tours of the city that are facilitated by some of our more active staff members! Learn about the history of the Rebel County by checking out other historical sites like the Four-Faced Liar and the Crawford Art Gallery.
