Griffith’s Design graduates continue in their efforts to support those in need as a result of Covid-19.

Waterford Health Centre

Cathy McEvoy a graduate of Fashion Design at Griffith College, has been busy making protective headbands for her mother, Dr Ita Creavins, and her team at Waterford Health Park. After learning that during the Covid-19 public health emergency, healthcare workers were having difficulty keeping their hair off their faces under the Personal Protective Equipment, Cathy stepped in to provide headbands at no cost to the frontline workers.

Cathy has also teamed up with friend Hannah Moran Jackson. The two Griffith fashion design graduates left Dublin for the lockdown and are now based in Waterford and Wicklow. Cathy and Hannah have been busy making both masks and headbands completely free of charge and in the last few weeks, they have distributed over 1,100 headbands and are still going!

A huge well done to both Cathy and Hannah. We’re very proud to see them using their skills for such a good cause.
