EU Funding Opportunity

FINS Scheme - Educational Loan for EU Students 2021/22

The FINS scheme offers study loans designed to meet real student needs; this is an extremely important step towards enabling all EU students to receive the necessary funds to pursue higher education. The scheme was introduced to Griffith in 2021 and is open to EU students who have received an offer to study on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course starting in February 2022 onwards.

The study loan is flexible and can be used for the following:

  • Tuition fee finance
  • Monthly living, costs of meals and rent (including rent deposit)
  • Books and other study materials
  • Laptop
  • Medical insurance
  • Transportation
  • Urgent expenses

Application process: As soon as you know which university you want to go to, you can use FINS' Finance Calculator and Application.

Eligibility: FINS finances students accepted onto an undergraduate or postgraduate programme. The team looks into the following eligibility criteria when assessing applications:

  • EU citizens pursuing their studies in another country than where they graduated from their previous education cycle.
  • EU citizens with no outstanding/unpaid debts for previous loans by other financial institutions.

Further eligibility criteria can be viewed on the FINS webpage.
