Students are permitted to work in Ireland once their course of study is listed on the Internationalisation Register. All Griffith College programmes available to International Students are listed on this Register and can be seen at http://www.nqai.ie/internationalisation.html.
Working in Ireland can be very beneficial to students as it gives them the opportunity to interact with different people in a public environment. It also enables students to gain confidence while providing a valuable service to the local community. While we encourage all our students to avail of part-time employment, we urge students to carefully balance their studies and work in order to ensure their academic success.
There are however some rules and regulations which have to be followed:- • During the academic year (September until the end of May) you are only permitted to work for a maximum of 20 hours per week (part-time).
- • During the summer months (June, July and August) you are permitted to work up to 40 hours per week (full-time).
The current minimum wage in Ireland is €8.65 per hour
