Griffith College Students win the 2008 RoboCode competition
Congratulations to Conor Hackett, Tianyi Wang and Wonjae Chang, BSc students in the Computing Faculty who made up the Griffith College Team who won the National RoboCode Final 2008.
The Robocode competition was part of the Games Fleadh 2008 held at the Tipperary Institute in Thurles. The competition is a programming competition for first year students and had teams from 15 third level colleges across the country. The competition has been running since 2004 and previous winners have been Waterford Institute of Technology (2004), Tipperary Institute (2005), Cork Institute of Technology (2006) and Dublin Institute of Technology (2007). Along with the previous winners, other entries came from University College Cork, Dundalk Institute of Technology, National University Maynooth, University of Limerick, Limerick Institute of Technology, Trinity College Dublin, Dunlaoghaire Institute, Galway Mayo Institute of Technolgoy, and Institute of Technology Blanchardstown.
Also thanks to Dr Kevin Casey and to Eoin Carroll, who mentored the team in the build up to the competition.
