Appointment of Barry Glynn BL as the new Debating and Mooting Co-ordinator
The Law Faculty is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Glynn BL as the new Debating and Mooting Co-ordinator for the Faculty. Barry is a highly experienced, award winning public speaker and practising Barrister.
The Faculty believes that with his ambition, experience, motivation and drive he is ideally placed ideal to lead the Mooting Society. Griffith College is achieving national and international recognition as an institution to be reckoned at within the world of Mooting. Last year students took part in The Advocate (Annual McCann Fitzgerald Business Law Advocate Moot Competition), the Inner Temple Moot (London) and sent teams to NUI Maynooth moots. We also ran an inaugural internal mooting competition (full details of which appear on this website) and had recent success in UCD's Thomas A Finlay Intervarsity Mooting Competition.
Mooting encourages any student pursuing a degree in law to hone their professional speaking / advocacy skills and will be of tremendous help to anyone wishing to pursue further legal training with professional bodies such as the Kings Inns.
Barry had his first meeting with students on October 13th. Anyone studying law who is interested in joining the debating society should contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
