The Law School will launch a careers advice service for students tonight in A108 at 5pm. Over the next month there will be a series of talks for students on preparing for employability. Students will also have the opportunity to access specific advice on careers within and outside the legal professions within the Faculty from now until the end of June.Judge in Residence Mr Justice Frank Clarke gave the third in a series of lectures to law students last night.
The title of the talk was The Role of the Judiciary and the Separation of Powers in a Democracy. Using the most up to date case law, Judge Clarke gave real insight into the relationship between the legislature and the judiciary. This is a relationship that is currently attracting scrutiny as a result of both the economic crisis and the installation of a new government in Ireland. Powerpoints will be made available to students. Judge Clarke will be giving a public lecture next month, which will be the last in the series for the current academic year.
