Griffith College Limerick Student Receives Number One in the World Award.
A student at Griffith College Limerick, Ahmed Jamal Maaz, has beat off international competition and has been awarded first in the world in the Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business Information Technology. Ahmed, originally from India, triumphed over students from Africa, Europe, MESA, East Asia and South East Asia to receive the Global High Achiever Award.
Ahmed completed the postgraduate diploma on a full-time basis over nine months at Griffith College and he completed his final exams in June 2009.
Speaking about the award Ahmed said, "I was truly delighted to receive this award. I am really grateful to all at Griffith College especially my lecturers for their never ending help and support. These kinds of achievements are not possible without the kind of assistance and guidance I was given at Griffith College."
"Ahmed Jamal Maaz is an exceptional student and achieving first place in the world opens many avenues for him. We wish him every success in his upcoming academic endeavours and in his future career," commented Kevin O'Sullivan of Griffith College Limerick.
Ahmed holds a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Information Technology and plans to undertake the in Master of Science in Strategic Business Information Technology at GCL next year. His ambition is to go on to PhD level and ultimately to start his own software business. He currently works for PC World in Castletroy and is their top salesman in Ireland.
