The Pipe showing in Irish cinemas.

Risteard Ó Domhnaill (Richie O'Donnell) graduated from Griffith College in 2004 with a Diploma in Media Techniques(TV & Video). His documentary film, The Pipe, won The Best Feature Documentary at the 2010 Galway Film Fleadh, has since been shown at film festivals around the world and is now on release in selected Irish cinemas. The Faculty of Journalism & Media Communications congratulates Richie on the documentary's success (see below) and its nationwide cinema release (see below). Website: http://www.thepipethefilm.com/

It was screened at the Cork Film Festival to a sell-out crowd.
At the Foyle Film Festival in Derry it picked up the award for Best Documentary.
It was also selected for showing at the prestigeous Toronto Film Festival.
It was screened in the London and Amsterdam film festivals with great success, just narrowly missing out on the top prize in the prestigious ‘Green Screen' competition to Into Eternity by Michael Madsen, but the judges felt The Pipe deserved an ‘honourable mention' none the less.

Richie will be visiting the Griffith College Dublin campus early in the new semester to share his film making experiences with students.
