Griffith College was awash with talent on Thursday 24th May 2012,
which saw the beginning of Creative Week 2012.
It opened with a live fashion show at 7pm on the South Circular Road campus showcasing Ireland's up and coming talent in the areas of fashion design, interior design and architecture, film, photography, computer science, music and drama, and digital media. The show kicked off with a display of Triumph Inspiration Awards competitors followed by the finalists from our Reinvent Fashion School Competition Finalists which demonstrated fashion from old garments, updated and revamped. It was followed by Fashion from our 1st year Dress Collections, 2nd Year Mini Collections and 3rd Year Graduate collections and Finale.
The fashion show was followed by a screening of 2 short films. Firstly was 'Do you want a Flake with That?" shortlisted for the Best Short Film at the SMedia Awards 2012. Next was "I see her walking now" Which was a winner for Best TV Production at the SMedia Awards. This was followed by a presentation of a selection of Interior Architecture projects and Photography students work. This served as a taster for the following week when photography graduates hosted their annual exhibition on Thursday 31st May 2012.
The evening concluded with some amazing music from The Hitmen Trio who wowed us with their eclectic take on popular music. Also on display in the college was work from Photography 2nd year students and an interactive room from our Computing Department showcasing the best in Animation and Games Technology. Overall the event was a huge success for the College. We are thrilled to see the fantastic standard of work across all disciplines and we wish all our students well in their endeavours.
