Course Overview Validation 40 Credits - HETAC Requirements Applicants must have Grade 8 in instrumental and Grade 6 theory, both from the LSMD or an approved substitute. Duration 1 year (2 days per week, over two semesters)

Students on this programme take four subjects from our other Music Education Programmes, allowing them to concentrate on acquiring a specific subset of music teaching skills and knowledge. Modules in this programme are certified under HETAC’s Accumulation of Credits and Certification of Subjects scheme (ACCS).
Course Content Credits Core Subjects Pedagogy & Teaching Practice 20 Credits Theory of Teaching & Learning 5 Credits Psychology of Music Education Professional Practice 5 Credits Practical Musicianship 10 Credits Students may progress from this programme to take the full Higher Diploma in Arts in Music Education.
