The Certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy provides a comprehensive guide through the complex field of counselling and introduces the student to the central issues in professional counselling. The course explains the principal role of the counsellor, and clarifies issues concerning both the attributes of the counsellor themselves and those seeking counselling. This short programme provides an outline of the main areas of counselling and details the traumatic events and states of mind that typically warrant the intervention of the psychotherapist.

This course will improve the student‘s ability to listen and appreciate the supports required in these areas. It will also provide the student with a concrete foundation for further studies in this area.

Graduates are also encouraged to further their studies through joining the Griffith College Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (ICM)

To apply you can simply complete the registration form and return back to us before the course commences, if you are applying to the college as a mature student (over 23) you will be offered a place on the course based on your maturity. If you are under 23 you will need to send me a copy of your leaving cert results with your application form.
