Life and work experience
Candidates who do not meet the entry requirements as noted in the course overview section of the BA (Ord) in Business web page may be permitted to enter the programme on the grounds of their life and work experience. For such learners to be considered, they must be at least 23 years of age before commencing the programme.

Completed relevant undergraduate programmes
The College recognises that the BA in Business programme may also be attractive to learners who have previously completed relevant undergraduate programmes in business and related disciplines at certificate/diploma level. The Faculty, in association with the Admissions Department considers all such applications. Factors considered include, the nature and level of the award, the grade achieved, the overlapping of course content, and the similarity of intellectual experience in terms of knowledge, expertise, practical abilities and the extent and quality of transferable skills.
Exemptions
The granting of exemptions is restricted to ensure that learners are not placed at a disadvantage in later modules with compared to other learners taking the programme. Given the inevitable differences in structure between the BA in Business and the learner's original programmes, such learners can expect to revisit certain programme elements with which they are already familiar.

Accreditation of prior learning
All applications for the accreditation of prior learning (A.P.L.) and prior experiential learning (A.P.E.L.) are logged to support the consideration of subsequent applications from identical programmes. Each application is also available for review by external examiners and verifiers.
It is understood that all non-standard applications to the programme are subject to prevailing norms and controls.
