The law Faculty is delighted that six faculty members are travelling to the 2011 Innocence Network Conference Programme, taking place in Cincinnati, Ohio USAThe title of this years conference is 'An International Exploration of Wrongful Conviction '
It is hosted by the Rosenthal Institute for Justice/Ohio Innocence Project at the University of Cincinnati College of Law and takes place from the 7th to the 10th of April
David Langwallner, Dean of the Law Faculty is presenting two paper and Joanna Joyce is presenting one paper. They are being accompanied by 'Ed Mathews, Audrey Browne-Gallen Stephen Donoghue and supervising lawyer, 'Elaine Finneran. This is a groundbreaking event-the first conference to bring the world's leaders in the Innocence Movement together in one place to interact and learn from one another. The objective of the conference is to spark cooperation across national boundaries for years to come, promoting needed reforms in criminal justice systems and inspiring worldwide efforts to eliminate and remedy wrongful convictions.
The conference is being attended by representatives from Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Czech Republic, England, India, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, and Switzerland, expected to attend.
